What we found

Power Digital is a growth marketing agency with headquarters at 9605 Scranton Road in San Diego and offices in New York, Atlanta, and Medellín, Colombia. Grayson Lafrenz started it in 2012 after running a janitorial business, according to a March 2026 San Diego Magazine profile. Lafrenz is now Founder and Chairman, and Jeff Mason is CEO. Court Square Capital has been the company's investment partner since 2022. In September 2026, Power Digital bought pirawna, an Amazon agency, and uptickk, a TikTok Shop agency. Teams sit in B2B, consumer services, CPG, fashion, healthcare, and lifestyle divisions. Clutch lists 250 to 999 employees.

Power Digital lists more than 40 case studies, and most describe the client by type, such as a legacy surf brand or a leading fitness app. Victrola is the strongest named example. Its November 2024 case study reports revenue up 115%, web sessions up 160%, and transactions up 108% in one year, with no start date. Other named pages cover brands such as TomboyX and Catalina Crunch. All of these figures are self-reported. Outside, Power Digital holds 66 Clutch reviews averaging 4.8. One reviewer reports a fivefold rise in organic traffic, and another flagged errors in revenue reports.

Power Digital says it pairs vertical experts with Omega, its in-house AI operating system. Omega monitors every account, suggests next moves, and carries out approved actions, according to the homepage. The leadership page names a Chief Client Officer, a Chief Strategy Officer, and a VP of Technical SEO. The site does not name the teams that run individual accounts. Power Digital publishes no onboarding timeline, and several Clutch reviewers asked for clearer roadmaps and expectations at the start. Clutch lists a $5,000 minimum project and rates of $100 to $149 an hour.

Power Digital sells a defined GEO service, scoped together with SEO. The method starts with an AI readiness audit and a prompt and theme audit. It then covers structured data, crawler access, content rewrites for AI retrieval, and digital PR to earn citations. The service tracks whether a brand appears and gets cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews for a fixed set of queries. It reports citation share against competitors and says the results are samples, not exact positions. Power Digital publishes no client results for AI visibility and no GEO prices.

The main gaps are named proof and visibility into the team. Most case studies hide the client, and the GEO service has no published client results. Before signing, ask which people will run your account and how senior they are. Ask how Omega's suggestions get reviewed before they go live and which AI visibility metrics you will receive each month. Ask how the September 2026 acquisitions change who handles Amazon and TikTok Shop work. Smaller brands should confirm the minimum budget early.

Score breakdown

How Power Digital scores, check by check

Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10 against the bands in our methodology. The weight shows how much it counts toward the overall score.

  1. Proof of results

    35% of the score 6 /10

Victrola and a few other named clients have numeric case studies, but most of the 40-plus case studies are anonymous and few carry dates. Outside support is thinner, with 66 Clutch reviews averaging 4.8.

  2. Senior attention and speed

    25% of the score 4 /10

A staff of several hundred works in vertical teams backed by an AI operating system, with no named account leads and no published onboarding timeline.

  3. AI search readiness

    20% of the score 7 /10

A defined GEO service with a described method and recurring citation tracking across six AI platforms, but no published client results.

  4. Accountability and identity

    20% of the score 8 /10

A named founder and executive team, an active Delaware corporation registered in California at the San Diego headquarters, regional and trade press, and 66 Clutch reviews. Our searches found no lawsuits or regulator actions.

Overall 6 × 35% + 4 × 25% + 7 × 20% + 8 × 20% = 6.1 out of 10
