What we found

WebFX is a full-service agency headquartered at 1705 North Front Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It dates its founding to 1995. An April 2026 release from Pennsylvania's governor traces its start to a Shippensburg University dorm room and describes its focus as mid-sized and large businesses. William Craig is founder and CEO, Karie Shearer is co-founder, and Katherine Kelly is president and COO. The company reports more than 750 staff. It has further offices in Lancaster and York, Pennsylvania, in St. Petersburg and Fort Myers, Florida, and in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It sells SEO, PPC, content, web design, email, social media, CRO, and GEO. It owns OmniSEO, an AI visibility tracker, and the Nutshell CRM.

WebFX publishes a large case study library, and every client in the visible list is named. KOA reports a 260% increase in organic revenue. York Saw & Knife reports a 2,118% year-over-year rise in Amazon ads revenue. Thompson Tractor, a client since 2018, reports 500% more leads from AI platforms after AI search work began in January 2025. These figures are self-reported. Many headline figures give a period such as year over year, but few pages state a baseline or calendar dates. The outside record is large. WebFX holds a 4.9 rating from 450 reviews on Clutch.

WebFX assigns each client a dedicated account manager. That person is the main contact and pulls in specialists from the wider staff. The pages we checked give no onboarding timeline, and they do not say how senior the hands-on staff are. Its pricing page lists SEO plans from $2,900 a month. Clutch shows a $1,000 minimum project size. Its case studies list RevenueCloudFX, the company's in-house marketing data platform, among the tools used. WebFX says clients get a 24/7 help desk and a direct phone line.

WebFX sells GEO and tracks it with OmniSEO, its own visibility platform. OmniSEO follows how brands appear in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, and Copilot. SEO.com, a WebFX site, lists OmniSEO plans from $50,000 a year. WebFX publishes AI results for named clients. Thompson Tractor reports 136% more visibility in Google AI Overviews and 586% more traffic from generative AI sources. 10X Engineered Materials reports a 37% rise in total AI answer appearances. The pages rarely state baselines or measurement dates, so the size of each gain is hard to check.

The main limits are scale and an account-manager layer. A buyer deals with one contact at a company of more than 750 people, so the hands-on team can be hard to see. Ask who will do the SEO, ad, and AI search work each month and how long they have done it. Ask for the baseline, date range, and data source behind any case study you rely on. Ask whether OmniSEO tracking comes with a GEO retainer or costs extra. Confirm the contract term in writing.

Score breakdown

How WebFX scores, check by check

Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10 against the bands in our methodology. The weight shows how much it counts toward the overall score.

  1. Proof of results

    35% of the score 8 /10

More than 50 named-client case studies with numbers, such as a 260% organic revenue gain for KOA, and 450 Clutch reviews at 4.9. Most figures lack baselines and calendar dates.

  2. Senior attention and speed

    25% of the score 4 /10

More than 750 staff work through dedicated account managers. Its pages give no onboarding timeline and do not say how senior the hands-on staff are.

  3. AI search readiness

    20% of the score 9 /10

Runs its own AI visibility tracker, OmniSEO, and publishes AI search results for named clients such as Thompson Tractor. Baselines and date ranges are rarely given.

  4. Accountability and identity

    20% of the score 9 /10

Named founders and executives, a Harrisburg street address, 450 Clutch reviews, and an April 2026 Pennsylvania governor's release on its expansion.

Overall 8 × 35% + 4 × 25% + 9 × 20% + 9 × 20% = 7.4 out of 10
